VR-CLiCS
VR-CLiCS (Child Local Clinics for Safety in Virtual Environments) adapts REPHRAIN’s Privacy Clinics model to focus on the safety of young people (12–17) in social VR and online gaming. Working with Glasgow Life Libraries and respectme, we will run three community-based clinics in Scotland (Feb 2026) that combine participatory harm-mapping, hands-on training with safety and reporting tools, and co-design of prevention materials for young people, parents/carers, and educators. The project will generate locally grounded evidence on how online harms such as harassment, bullying and sexualised abuse in immersive platforms relate to Safer Streets priorities (including VAWG and ASB), and will produce practical outputs such as VR Safety Cards, parent guidance, and a facilitator pack to support replication in other communities.
Start and End Dates:
· Professor Mohamed Khamis (PI, Dec-25 – Feb-26)
· Dr Shaun Macdonald (PDRA, Dec-25 – Feb-26)
