Dr Vesselin Velichkov is a Lecturer in Security and Privacy in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh and a member of the Security and Privacy Group within the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science (LFCS).

His area of research is symmetric-key cryptography and his current research focus is lightweight cryptography. Dr Velichkov has more than 20 publications in international conferences and journals with more than 500 citations. He is a member of the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR) since 2007.
