REPHRAIN – Online Harms Data Masterclass

On 2 September, REPHRAIN hosted a masterclass looking at the overarching challenges of dealing with online harms data.

This masterclass opened with an introduction to this topic and the challenges from Professor Corinne May-Chahal, the Chair of the REPHRAIN Ethics Board, followed by a series of case studies from REPHRAIN research staff looking at challenges associated with specific online harms data in their area of expertise (Child Protection, general ethical considerations), closing out with a round-table discussion of best practice principles.

Breakout sessions will provide an opportunity to discuss best practice principles in the context of dealing with online harms data based on the following questions:

  1. What are the existing best practices?
  2. What are the challenges faced?
  3. What are the tools and technique to share data in a privacy- preserving way?
