Mohamed Khamis is a Professor of Cybersecurity and Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Glasgow, where he leads the SIRIUS Lab into research in Usable Security and Privacy: the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Security.

He is interested in understanding threats to privacy and security that are imposed or facilitated by ubiquitous technologies and sensors. He also works on designing user-centered systems to address said threats. His team’s research has received funding from the Royal Society of Edinburgh, the EPSRC, NCSC, PETRAS, REPHRAIN, and Facebook Reality Labs. He publishes regularly in CHI, TOCHI, IMWUT and other top HCI, usable security and ubiquitous computing conferences and journals. He serves on the program committee of CIH since 2019, and the editorial boards of IMWUT and IJHCS. Mohamed received his PhD from Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) in Germany.
