Minhao Zhang

Minhao graduated from the University of York Management School in 2018, where he pursued his PhD study. During his time at York, he was involved in a range of research projects exploring supply chain risks, funded by CILT and SAMS, and from there he set out on a research journey in the broad area of empirical study in operations management and big data analytics in social media. The theme throughout Minhao’s current work is data analytics in advancing the theoretical development of strategic operations management.

Thanks to various cross-disciplinary research collaborations, Minhao has published papers in the fields of operations management, information systems, and social media. His work has been published in Journal of Service Research; British Journal of Management; International Journal of Operations & Production Management; Tourism Management; IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management; Industrial Marketing Management; International Journal of Production Economics; Supply Chain Management: An International Journal; Journal of Business Research, and R&D Management, among others.

Minhao has been awarded outstanding reviewer for Industrial Management & Data System from Emerald Literati Awards. He is a member of the editorial board for Enterprise Information Systems and co-editing a special issue in Technological Forecasting and Social Change. Furthermore, in 2020, he received a grant awarded by Society for the Advancement of Management Studies to develop the management studies community. Most recently, he has been a co-investigator of an inaugural project about Automated Detection of Online Harms for Social Media Applications at REPHARIN which is an £8.6 million three-year UKRI Research Centre of Excellence.
