Ryan Gibson is an early-career Research Fellow in Cyber Security at the University of Strathclyde, primarily working on the AP4L (Adaptive PETs to Protect & emPower People during Life Transition) project under the supervision of Prof. Wendy Moncur. He is also a Research Co-investigator on the REPHRAIN project grant “Addressing Privacy Risks and Legal Challenges in the Emergent Use of Text-based Generative AI for UK Research”. Ryan’s research interests centre on accessibility and the co-development of tools to support vulnerable populations in being safer and more independent online. In line with this, he is passionate about ethics and the safe inclusion of “hard-to-reach” populations within research. More information can be found here, including Ryan’s background in digital health and human-computer interaction.
