Dr Baraa Zieni is a researcher in Computer Science, joined the School of Management to work on the ACCEPT project as part of REPHRAIN — National Research Centre on Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial Influence Online.

Before Bristol, she was a researcher and teaching associate at University of Leicester where also obtained her PhD in Computer Science. Baraa also was visiting researcher at Bournemouth University (2018-2019). She is an Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) and taught in several areas of Computer Science and Software Engineering over the last ten years. She had a number of other roles such as software developer, project manager, and has been working with ICPC — International Collegiate Programming Contest since 2013.

Baraa’s research interests are in the areas of Software Engineering, Requirement Engineering, Trust, Cyber Security, Transparency, Privacy. Her recent publication at IEEE RE21 is on Transparency in Software Engineering.
