Tim McSweeney is a Professor at Anglia Ruskin University.

Tim joined ARU from the University of Hertfordshire, where he was a Senior Lecturer in forensic psychology (between 2018 and 2023). Since the late 1990s, he has been involved in and led numerous local, national, and international research studies examining the processes and impacts of different criminal justice interventions. Tim has worked in senior research roles with the Home Office (Counter-Extremism Unit) and the Ministry of Justice (HM Inspectorate of Prisons).
