Dr Rik Sarkar is a Reader at the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. He is the Deputy Director of Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science.

His current interests are in machine learning with guarantees of privacy, fairness and other properties. He has extensive experience in the area of distributed algorithms, with a focus on information processing for sensors, mobile devices and personal devices.
