Angelika Strohmayer

Dr Angelika Strohmayer is co-director of the Design Feminisms Research Group at Northumbria University’s School of Design, founding member of fempower.tech (an international feminist technology collective), and co-editor of the ‘Meaningful Design Processes’ Forum for Interactions Magazine. Her research is inspired by and aims to contribute to feminist and justice-oriented theories through in-the-world research with diverse communities. She works on projects that sit at the intersection of theory and praxis, thinking through applied work related to topics of safety, technologies, and textiles. This work is situated across a variety of disciplines such as Design, Science and Technology Studies, Human-Computer Interaction, Criminology, and Security. She is dedicated to the inclusion of under- and- misrepresented communities in research, design, and academia and proactively work towards equity, diversity, and inclusion.
