Dr Shaun Macdonald is a Research Associate at the University of Glasgow, an expert in HCI, affective and multimodal interaction, usable security, social VR and HRI.

He specialises in mixed methods and participatory user study design and analysis. He received his PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Glasgow, for a project exploring affective touch using vibrotactile cues and their deployment as a calming intervention for social anxiety. His work has been published in top HCI venues, including CHI, TOCHI, TVGC, and USENIX Security, has been featured in numerous print and online media outlets, and has won several research awards.  Website: https://shaun-macdonald-hci.owlstown.net.
