VAWG
Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) is one of the most urgent challenges facing our communities today, and tackling it is central to the Government’s Safer Streets Mission with a bold ambition to halve VAWG within the next decade. Working in close partnership with Law Enforcement, the project will examine how digital data is currently used to support local policing priorities, identify emerging trends and technologies, and uncover best practices that can be scaled. Through interactive focus groups, mapping exercises, and collaboration with analysts and safeguarding teams, the research will generate practical insights into the intersection of online and offline harm. By turning data into action, this project aims to create tangible, evidence-led pathways to protect women and girls and strengthen safer streets for all.
This new project launches at a critical moment, bringing together cutting-edge research and frontline policing to explore how online data can transform the prevention, detection, and response to both tech-facilitated and in-person abuse.
