Dr Tariq Elahi is a Lecturer of Security and the Internet of Things at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh. He is also the School of Informatics Director of Quality and serves as the chair of the Tor Research Safety Board. His current research interests are in private communications on the Internet and the privacy preserving collection of data and its analysis. He is an active member of the PETS community (serving as co-chair of HotPETS 2017 and 2018 and in the PoPETS PC since 2016) with work spanning anonymous communication networks, censorship resistance, and privacy-preserving data analytics for sensitive applications.
