Elena Gordon-Petrovskaya

Elena is a human-computer interaction researcher and is a research associate in the REPHRAIN core team. Before REPHRAIN, she completed a PhD at the University of York exploring the harms related to video game design, through which she published work taxonomising design strategies in games and assessing the spectrum of possible harms. She also holds an MSc in Human-Computer Interaction from UCL. Elena’s interests lie in the lived experience of technology use, particularly by vulnerable populations, and in ensuring equity across studying and designing this experience. She is also interested in the balance between company and consumer responsibility, and how this can be conceptualised and regulated.
