What do we do?

Privacy Clinics offer free, confidential support for individuals facing digital safety, security, or privacy concerns. Our trained volunteer consultants, specialising in trauma-informed care, provide expert guidance on technology safety checks, online privacy, and digital security best practices. We partner with local organisations that support at-risk communities to provide accessible and tailored assistance. Our services include:

  • General online privacy and security advice
  • One to one consultations
  • Advice on privacy hygiene
  • Hands-on demonstrations and workshops

In a welcoming community setting, Privacy Clinics create a safe space for individuals and groups to voice their concerns, receive expert guidance, and access immediate assistance. We offer our services in various formats:

  • One-to-one private sessions
  • Drop-in sessions
  • Interactive group workshops

In addition to direct support, we also conduct research in collaboration with Equitable Privacy Project to understand the experiences and challenges that at-risk communities face when using technology or being online. This is to help us develop proactive and reactive solutions to improve digital privacy protections for everyone.

Partner With Us

Our multi-disciplinary team of researchers, advocates, and technologists collaborate with community organisations to improve digital safety for various communities. Through research, training, and advocacy, we aim to empower service providers and expand the reach of digital privacy and security education. To date, we have successfully delivered sessions covering:

  • Fraud prevention
  • Online safety best practices
  • Password management
  • General privacy and security awareness

We are keen to expand our services in Bristol and beyond. If your organisation is interested in partnering with us, we would love to hear from you!

Volunteer with Us

Volunteers are key to the successful operation of Privacy Clinics. We train our team to provide empathetic and rigorous technology advice to community groups. As a volunteer, you will:

  • Gain first-hand experience in the intersection of advocacy, social justice, and technology.
  • Develop valuable skills, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Contribute to meaningful change by helping individuals navigate online spaces safely

We will announce our next volunteer recruitment round soon. If you are passionate about digital privacy issues and social justice, we would love to hear from you!
