Marika Grasso
Marika Jasmine Grasso is an artist and researcher exploring tactile relationships with technology through material and sensorial practices.
She holds a PhD from Sheffield Hallam University’s Lab4Living, where her research Touched Matter examined touch as a reflective instrument for making and understanding in a more-than-human world. Trained in Textiles at the Royal College of Art and in Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins, her practice merges textile craft, electronic materials, and responsive interfaces to create installations and participatory experiments that question how technology mediates care and perception. Her work has been presented internationally, including at the Stanley Picker Gallery, CHI Interactive Experiences (Bolzano), and S1 Art Space. A former Junior Fellow at the IWM in Vienna, she lectures at Sheffield Hallam University and Istituto Marangoni. Marika’s current research extends to AI and ecological perception, cultivating a sensuous, embodied understanding of digital materiality.
