Application to join REPHRAIN’s College of Peer Reviewers
Closing date: 15 April 2021
We invite applications for peer reviewers to join REPHRAIN, the EPSRC-funded Research Centre on Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial Influence Online.
We are seeking to appoint a range of interdisciplinary reviewers to join REPHRAIN’s College of Peer Reviewers. The remit of the College will be to provide rigorous, quality reviews for all proposals submitted to the REPHRAIN Strategic Funding programme. The Strategic Funding programme will run three separate funding calls over the duration of the programme and reviewers from the College will be selected for each call based on area of expertise and relevance to the call topics.
REPHRAIN welcomes applications from:
• Colleagues who are experienced in submitting and/or evaluating large research proposals from an interdisciplinary perspective with an active research track record.
• Colleagues from partner organisations who have an interest in or experience of working with higher education providers.
• Early career staff who may not have significant experience but can contributed to the review process and use this as an opportunity for personal and professional development.
Researchers in Computer Science, International Relations, Law, Psychology, Management, Design, Digital Humanities, Public Policy, Political Science, Criminology and Sociology have teamed up to lead an £8.6 million three-year UKRI Research Centre of Excellence focussed on the protection of citizens online.
REPHRAIN is led by the University of Bristol (Director, Prof Awais Rashid) with co-investigators from UCL (Deputy Director, Prof Madeline Carr), Bath, King’s College London and Edinburgh. REPHRAIN is designed to build and lead the UK’s world-leading interdisciplinary community on this mission and provide a clear single front door to engage and build capacity with government, industry and citizens.
Information on REPHRAIN’s ethics approval process can be found here.
All applications should be received by 4pm on Friday 15 April 2021 (the call may be extended if further reviewers are required). Successful applicants will be notified by 07 May 2021 with the submissions from the first call for the REPHRAIN Strategic Funding programme expected from 14 May 2021.
Applications will be assessed by the Centre Director, Deputy Director, Centre Manager plus one member of the REPHRAIN Strategic Board based on the information provided in the online application form (pdf version can be found here). When selecting reviewers we will also consider the overall diversity of the college to ensure it reflects a wide range of backgrounds, disciplines, and institutions.
Please ensure all completed applications are submitted using the online application form before the deadline date (15 April 2021).
